Kupchak:
"We are very happy with the team we have. We have a young center to build around for next 10 years."
So, anyone think this is just Kupchak trying to overhype Bynum for a future trade, or is that really the plan in Los Angeles?

Personally I think it's a little of both. Bynum obviously has a ton of talent, but he just can't stay healthy. Of course there is that whole Dwight Howard to LA campaign.

maybe nola

if bynum can actually stay healthy, he's a great player. 2nd best center in the league
it's a real shame too because he's like the prototype NBA center.
before you guys flip out, prototype doesnt mean the best, but think about it
over 7'0, big body, great hands, excellent post footwork, great shot blocking ability because of his arms. he's just has the pure NBA center's body

2nd half last year when they centered the defense around him and he let the scoring come to him and focused on boards and D, he was seriously a monster and the lakers had the best D in the league during that stretch solely because of him. and he was the only laker to show up vs the mavs

i love Dwight, but he'd cost a lot for the lakers to acquire via trade. not just losing Bynum, but also draft picks. im really sick of the lakers forfeiting their first rounders. the team lacks athleticism and it's really annoying seeing every other team have young studs unlike the lakers. now that Phil "i hate rookies" Jackson is gone, they can go back to drafting
