ESPN - Gary Kubiak will return as the head coach of the Texans, according to league sources.

Houston has lost four in a row and eight of their last nine to fall out of the playoff picture.

Texans owner Bob McNair believes that if Kubiak can make certain changes to his defensive coaching staff, then he will be able to create a winning atmosphere.

Houston ranks 29th in total defense (380.6 yards per game) and last against the pass this season (277.1).
Well Denver can forget about him now.

LOL. Not sure if this is the best move. They have really underachieved it seems.

I don't think it's a terrible decision. They just need to focus on bringing in an upper tier defensive coordinator. That is where a vast majority of their problems lie.

that team is so talented yet they just can't do shit. 6-10 and keeping their head coach, yet Giants will finish season with 10-6 record and I want Coughlin to be fired.

Once the Texans take care of their defensive coordinator and defensive coaches, they will be on the right path. I don't think firing Kubiak is the solution, bring in a guy like Wade Phillips or Marvin Lewis as defensive coordinator. Once this team gets the defense rolling, they are going to be tough, tough to handle.

I like Kubiak, although the record doesn't show it.. hes done alot for that team and made alot of strides.

I've heard Wade Phillips will more than likely be the defensive cordinator, so that means there will be a 3-4. Not sure how that "helps" Mario Williams and Brian Cushing.

Their record under Kubiak is an illusion. They are a better team than that. They are just huge underachievers. They will get it together soon, maybe next year. They have the talent, they just need to be consistent and get it together where it produces wins. The defense is definitely a major block in that road to success.

No playoff appearances under Kubiak, one winning season followed up by a 6 win year. They can't get over the hump with a lot of talent. Should have let him go.
