Paul Kruger and the Cleveland Browns have agreed upon a five-year, $40 million deal.

Kruger has one of the Baltimore Ravens' top pass rushers.
I like Kruger, but 8M a year seems steep.

Yeah, 8 mil is a bit too much.

7.5 sacks in his last 8 regular season games, and followed it up with 4 in the post-season. He's getting better and entering his prime, this is not overpaying.

He had Suggs, Nata, Ellerbe, Upshaw and Lewis on the field with him, and his success could be attributed to the fact that he benefited from that supporting cast. He had 1.5 sacks through the first six weeks and once Suggs came back and played across from him he had 7.5 in his last 9.

He had 4 sacks in 8 games without Suggs. Obviously playing with good players helps, and he'll be helped playing opposite of a good pass rusher in Sheard, two very good linemen in Taylor and Rubin, and DQwell somewhere in the middle at LB.

Some people are knocking Baltimore for not keeping these guys...but they're all signing for more than they're worth. Hats off to Ozzie Newsome and John Harbaugh for having the guts to gamble with the draft and their current depth chart.
