Hyun-soo Kim signed a 2-year, $7 million deal that stipulates, if he is released by the Orioles, he collects the entire $7 million. Ultimately a Rule 5-ish contract. We'll the Korean slugger has been anything but this Spring and Baltimore marked him for assignment to Triple-A Norfolk. Kim doesn't have to accept demotion and may end up taking his $7 mil and heading back to Korea.

Wow. That seems very cheap, the guy wasn't what he was knocked up to be and now he will just be able and take his money and go home? Hey Orioles I want that contract.

This is why i hate the whole IFA process. Posting bids just to negotiate to players, then they turn out to be shit and still get paid.

There was no bidding process for negotiations. Kim is 29 and no international club owned his rights. The O's signed him to the weird contract b/c that's what it took to sign him. He had offers from other teams.
