A league source expects Jason Kidd to finish his career as a member of the Mavericks.

Kidd was involved in trade rumors this season, but he's happy in Dallas, where his career began.

The Mavericks would like to sign him to a less expensive contract, and also have concerns about hurting their chances to be a player in the summer of 2010.

I wouldn't mind re-signing him, just if he accepts a much much smaller contract

He needs to just hang that number two Jersey in the Rafters or a number 5 in New Jersey. He is out of his prime and no longer has what it takes...

he still has what it takes. who wouldn't want a 40% 3 point shooting, 8.5 APG, 6 RPG, 2 SPG player on there team who has as much savy and veteran leadership as Kidd?

Speaking off Kidd, he's like 40 assists away from 10k

He is certainly no longer what he was, but that is to be expected as he gets older. I would lime to see the Mavs hold on to him, but if he won't accept an exceptionally smaller deal he gives them no choice
