Could Keyshawn Johnson follow his close friend and mentor Bill Parcells to South Florida? According to the former first overall draft pick, a return to the gridiron hasn't been ruled out in his mind. Johnson's agent, Jerome Stanley recently spoke with The Miami Herald via email.

"I speak to Keyshawn daily about all aspects of his career, he is very close to Coach Parcells and is in great shape IF he chose to play next year.''

There's no doubt that Miami lacks play-makers and veteran leadership, two aspects Keyshawn possesses. Whether or not Keyshawn still has the ability to play is yet to be seen but with the crop of young wide-outs, some "tough love" from a veteran of Keyshawn's stature could do the Dolphins a lot of good. -AE

OMG please no. Keyshawn would ruin anything and everything they try to do. The guy is garbage now. Move on Keyshawn.

I'd go... Definatly be a good decision. A year off then get back on the field. That be nice. Maybe he can get a coaching position somehow.

Yea if I were him, and knew how in shape I was or if I could still get out and do it, I'd do it to. But Keyshawn isn't the best team player in the world, I just think he will cause more problems with his mouth then help.

Keyshawn leaves the "NFL Sunday Countdown" desk and straps on a Dolphins helmet. He may or may not have enough left in the tank, we will see, but I personally believe that he is capable of at least one more productive year.

Don't forget that Carolina dumped him b/c what they had in place was due to demote Keyshawn to 4th or 5th at best...which isn't worth paying him for. As of right now, Miami doesn't have that privilege.

I also believe that Keyshawn still wants to play and will play because he did not get to end his career on his own terms. The guy has a lot to prove still and It was pretty embarassing to be talking about helping Dwayne Jarrett on draft day, only to be cut weeks later.

Keyshawn had a pretty decent 2006, go look at his number of catches. Still a good possession vet in my mind.

He definitely doesn't have anything left in the tank. At the time he retired he was easily the slowest WR in the NFL. If he returns to the NFL it has to be as a coach, no way he would do any good as a receiver.

The guy has slowed down but he caught 70 balls for 815 yards & 4 touches in 2006, with Carolina. Those numbers are perfect for a #3 guy.

Marty Booker in 2007 only caught 50 ball for 556 & 1 touch. You don't think Keyshawn could of done that in 2007?

Of course he can, I'm not knocking the guy. But, he did have Steve Smith next to him double covered half the time, who do we have? Plus Delhomme was there, who do we have? He could come back if Parcells wanted him to, but, right now I don't think he will. He has a cushy job and he knows he's lost a step between 2006 and now. Why do you think no one wanted to sign him last season?
