BREAKING: Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr has won the NBA's Coach of the Year award for the 2015-16 season!

With help from Luke Walton, Kerr led Golden State to a historic 73-9 season.

Congratulations, Coach Kerr!

Yeah I definitely wouldnt have voted for Kerr
He missed a lot of games and these guys won what, 67 games last year and the title? Nice improvement and record but it wasnt that crazy

And what got them 73 wins was that start. And that start was Luke

Stotts and Carlisle were more deserving. The majority of these awards are a sham anyway.

I have no problem with this.  If you give it to Stotts or Carlisle or some other middling teams coach, you might as well call it the overachiever award.

They should just give it to Pop every year and actually give it to the best coach.

Cool your jets Zach Lowe

No they should give it to a coach who has developed their team and done a great job with minimal talent like Stotts or Carlisle

This is the same problem with preseason polls in college sports. You're judging them based on how you thought they'd look back in October.

They have arguably a top 10 player in Lillard, and one of the best backcourts in the league. 42 wins or whatever they had isn't THAT impressive in what was a down year for the west.

It's the general problem for most coaching awards. OSU hasn't had a coach win big 10 coach of the year in 36 years, because coach of the year in every sport is usually just an expectations award. Hard to deny the team that broke a significant record though.
