Flip Saunders is expected to replace DavidKahn astheMinnesotaTimberwolveshead of basketball operations.

Saunders has been negotiating a deal that could run through the 2017-18 season, according to sources who requested anonymity because they werent authorized to discuss the hiring.

The hiring of Saunders would end Kahns tenure as general manager of the Timberwolves.

Kahns deal includes a team option for 2013-14 that will not be exercised.
