The Chicago Bears accomplished one of their bigger off-season goals, re-signing RB Kevin Jones to a 2-year deal.
Jones was heavily courted by the Buffalo Bills but in the end, opted for the $3.5 million deal offered by Chicago that includes a $1 million signing bonus.
After ripping off a 1,000 yard rookie season, Jones suffered a listfranc fracture at the end of the 2006 season and struggled with durability through 2007. Jones was signed a 1-year, $605K deal with the Bears last season and saw 34 carries as he re-adjusted to being back on the gridiron.
The Bears feel good about Jones' health coming into 2009 camp and are planning to expand his role behind starter Matt Forte. -AE
