J.R. Smith is close to agreeing to the richest contract in the history of the Chinese Basketball Association, according to sources.

Smith would make more than $3 million to play with Shanxi for the 11-12 season.

Smith would be unable to be an unrestricted free agent in the NBA.

Looks as if the players are in doubt about the 11-12 season, but the Nuggets are getting hit hard, first DubC now JR
Wonder what their status will be once there contracts are up..

JR is unrestricted and wasnt planning on coming back. DubC is restricted but his asking price would likely be too high imo.

Im not sure. If the lockout goes for the whole year I think all the restricted free agents will be unrestricted.

I think they will be unrestricted, if I remember right, Childress was restricted wehn he left and came back and was unrestricted.

Denver will be in trouble if they lose DubC
