Why? I honestly don't think he would have got anything close to that in FA

theyre paying to keep him because he wouldnt have gotten that on the market and i honestly like him a lot but hes going to be a career loser.

I think he has great potential and I'd like if he stayed in Washington, but 80 million is a lot for a guy thats never been an all star. I think he'll be an all star at some point in his career, but you never know what could happen.

John Wall when healthy is a top-5 point guard in the league. He showed us his talent last season when returning to full health off of that injury and really impressed quite a few people. He was able to put up big numbers both for himself, as well as assisting his teammates. There's always a question about his ability to stay healthy, and that contract is steep, but the Wizards HAVE to find a way to keep him in town. If this is what it takes, then you have the bite the bullet and pull the trigger.

If he keeps shooting like he has at the end of last season, he's easily worth it. For the Wizards, anyway. They're not gonna land any high profile FAs.
 
I just hope he doesn't go into chill mode once signed.
