During All-Star Weekend, Carmelo Anthony and Joakim Noah had a conversation about Tom Thibodeau that eventually led to a recruiting pitch for the Chicago Bulls, according to a report.

Anthony asked Noah what it is like to play for Thibodeau.

Thibodeau has been rumored as an eventual candidate for the New York Knicks, while Anthony is also reportedly considering signing with the Bulls in the offseason.

Noah went on to tell Anthony that he should consider signing with the Bulls "if he wants to win a ring and secure a winning legacy."

Anthony told Noah that he "admires how hard the Bulls play and how hungry they are."

Derrick Rose would like the Bulls to sign Anthony in the offseason and is willing to help the team in their recruitment efforts.

Sources say that it would be difficult for Anthony to leave New York while also taking less money.

Sounds like the most realistic option right now.

I'm just a little surprised Noah wants him there.

Noah, "You should come play in Chicago."

That was probably the extent of it.

While Melo could sign there, I can't imagine any player ever talking about securing a winning legacy to another player. That just seems weird.

With how much it gets harped on on ESPN every day, I don't think it's that weird anymore.

Not to me
Especially in a pitch to a guy probably on his last huge huge pay day

Put me into the group that doesn't find Joakim talking about Melo's legacy weird.

Wouldn't Melo have to take a pretty large paycut if he wanted to go to Chicago?

He wouldn't necessarily be taking a pay cut though, would he?  He'd get the same money per year, he'd just be able to get an extra year from the Knicks.

I thought I heard somewhere that the Bulls couldn't even offer the full max even after they amnesty Boozer.

I could be wrong though.

They'd probably have to move Dunleavy in the off-season, which they could

Yeah whomever said it on SportsCenter said they would have to amnesty Boozer and trade Dunleavy, but it still wouldn't be a full max. IDK

I think Melo would take the paycut in a heartbeat if it meant a better chance to win.
