Jim Schwartz Denies Yelling At Fans

Jim Schwartz's job as head coach of the Detroit Lions is in serious doubt after they were eliminated from playoff contention with an overtime loss to the New York Giants in Week 16.

Schwartz was seen apparently yelling at fans that were booing his decision not to go for the win at the end of the fourth quarter.

"I wasn't addressing the crowd, I was just trying to get our team fired up," Schwartz said, via MLive.com. "I think the psyche of the team at that point, we needed to have that spark. We needed to feel like we're going out here and overtime and we're going to go win it. That's the only thing I was doing there."

Media reports indicated that Schwartz would be fired by the Lions if they failed to reach the playoffs.

Looked like he was yelling at the fans to me, plus as we seen the final 6 games of the season, he didn't do a very good job getting his team fired up. They allowed teams they should have beat to come into their stadium and beat them, with what looked like not much fight or heart.

With as bad as Stafford has been, I'd of sat on the ball too.

And he is right though, no reason to boo a team who's fate is determined by this overtime. Confidence killer.
