Dallas Morning News - In need of help in the secondary, the Cowboys gave Brandon Carr a $50.1 million contract with roughly half of the value guaranteed.

"We know we overpaid to get Carr," Dallas owner Jerry Jones said at the NFL meetings. "Not overpay -- we paid retail."

In comparison, Cortland Finnegan signed a $50 million deal, with $27 million in guarantees, with the Rams.
What a guy.

That's the reality of free agency. You don't necessarily pay the high-end free agents how much they're worth, you pay what the market dictates.

Brandon Carr is worth more than Cortland Finnegan and they're being paid the same, so that's like a bargain right?
