The St. Louis Cardinals have traded center fielder Colby Rasmus to Toronto for a multi-player package that includes starting pitcher Edwin Jackson, sources tell ESPN The Magazine's Buster Olney.

Jackson was dealt earlier Wednesday from the White Sox to the Blue Jays to set up the Toronto-St. Louis trade.

The Cardinals also are sending pitchers Trever Miller, Brian Tallet and P.J. Walters to Toronto for pitchers Marc Rzepczynski and Octavio Dotel and outfielder Corey Patterson, the sources told Olney.

Sources also told Olney that Miller will be sent to the White Sox.
OMG!!!

Does it matter? Colby Rasmus has star potential and the Jays gave up peanuts for him.

Only significant piece I see them giving up is Stewart. He has some good upside.

Either way, I love this trade for them.

Seriously how does AA pull of this kinda shit? Got Yunel for an aging Journeyman, got rid of Wells's contract and now this? Damn dude's a genius.

Or he's just capitalizing on a team that doesn't want their players anymore...

The Vernon thing was desperation on the Rangers part after striking out on everybody.

Well I know that lol but guys like Rasmus, Esco and Morrow (even though he's been inconsistent) are very talented. I don't understand why GM's would just trade them away for almost nothing really.

Plus he's the only one acquiring them. For his first MLB GM job, he is doing great.

Rasmus and the Cardinals coaching staff didn't get along at all, they felt he was lazy, didn't always try as hard as he could, and just didn't hustle.

Pretty much the same thing happened with Yunel Escobar.

I have no idea why the M's ditched Morrow, that was just stupid.

Just because he doesn't hustle doesn't mean you trade him for practically nothing.. No idea how Edwin Jackson has been traded for Daniel Hudson and Colby Rasmus in back to back seasons.
