Hope it works out for him in Washington, I would like to see him succeed. He brought some life back to the Bengals offense since he became OC. He did what he could with a limited QB. My only beef with him is the fact he abandoned the running game too quick and in my opinion, asked Dalton to throw the ball too much at times. Hopefully he's ready to handle not only the head coaching duties but also the play calling duties, that's asking a lot out of a guy with no head coaching experience in the NFL.

Jay Gruden as Bengals OC "I want Andy Dalton as my QB"

"Screw you guys, deal with Dalton. I have RG3"

I think Dalton gets better because of this.

If Dalton is going to get better, it's not going to be much. He's about reached his peak. Only way he will get better is having a run game, asking him to do less. Gruden will also have a better running back to work with compared to Green-Ellis. I think that offense will be exciting with the players they have.

The future success of this team is going to hinge on who he brings in as the offensive coordinator.

He can't be any worse than Kyle Shantard. If he abandons the run early, then it won't be any different than what we already had.

I think he should have hired an offensive coordinator just for the fact that he's also the head coach, for the first time in the NFL. That's a lot of responsibility for a guy but that's what he wants. He wasn't bad by any means, the offense was like 18th or worse before he became OC and he got the offense in the top 10.

They promoted the TE coach (Sean McVay) to OC, but I'm not sure if that will stick.  McVay is viewed as an up and comer in the coaching ranks across the league, so I'm pretty happy for him. He's gotten a lot out of guys like Fred Davis, and Jordan Reed looked like one of the better TEs in football this season as a rookie before he got hurt.

He's only 27 years old, though, so not a lot of experience.

Coincidentally, McVay was the receivers coach for the Florida Tuskers when Jay Gruden was coaching there.

Nothing has been decided, but Gruden has said that he likes the 3-4, and the two have worked together before, so it's likely.

I think they should get rid of Haslett. I think even a guy like Wade Phillips would be better. We'll see what Jay decides to do, I know he likes the Bengals LB coach Paul Guenther.
