Jaguars use franchise tag on Marcedes Lewis

aguars named TE Marcedes Lewis as their franchise player.
He'll be guaranteed over $7 million once he signs the tender. The Jaguars didn't have another legitimate candidate for the franchise tag, so using it on Lewis was a no brainer. The 26-year-old is coming off a breakout season as a pass catcher and has long been a highly effective blocker. The sides are using the tag as a means toward a long-term extension.

Good move by the Jaguars to get Lewis all locked up.

This guy is easily one of the more underrated tight ends in the league. As a Colts, I'd know.

He's one of the best TEs in the league, and possibly the most complete TE in the NFL.

He can still talk to other teams like hes a FA though, if they sign him. Jaguars get their 1st round pick. So it isn't too bad.

We also have another stud TE in Zach Miller.

This is definitely a no brainer for them. He's the best young TE in the league, and after last season you know other teams noticed him. If they hadn't already.
