Not a big shock, they have to let Blaine fight for this job for sure in his first year.Offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter reiterated that the Jaguars will give No. 10 overall pick Blaine Gabbert an opportunity to compete for their starting quarterback job in camp.
Koetter did acknowledge that the absence of OTAs and minicamps will be working in David Garrard's favor, however. "If Blaine is capable of coming in and getting past Dave in Year One, it looks to me like the Jaguars win," said Koetter. "We’re all winners. But I think the likelihood of that, the longer this (lockout) goes, is tough, and we don’t have to have it happen."
