But why ? If Philly still had Richards and Carter it would make more sense but now at this point of his career why go there ?

Its like 3.3M for 1 year and the Pens were offering $2M I know that

Maybe they backed out because they aren't paying him that much...

He's in it to cash in?

ya Im kind of confused on this deal for both Philly and Jagr...Jagr is 39, he probably wants to win the cup...why not go to Pittsburgh/Detroit or teams like them who have a better chance at winning? after Philly getting rid of Richards and Carter...I dont see them being Stanley Cup contenders.

Florida may actually end up being a decent team. Look at everyone they have picked up lol.

I don't think it made sense for him to go to Philly naturally but I read why the Pens withdrew and apparently they told him he needs to accept their offer by 11 PM and he didn't so they pulled it.

But with the Flyers re-tooling...this isn't really what he needs to pursue IMO.

lol the Panthers would have been as good of a choice xD

I agree completely. I don't understand the logic of him heading to Philly, when they just shipped out their best talents in Richards and Carter earlier. Not a very good decision for Jagr to head there.

Associated Press - Jaromir Jagr says he turned down more lucrative offers to sign on with the Flyers.

He said he liked what the Flyers are "trying to do" to win a Stanley Cup.

Jagr, 39, spent the past three seasons playing in Russia.

This week he mulled a one-year offer to rejoin the Penguins, his original team, before deciding to play for the Flyers.

The Flyers deal is worth $3.3 million. Jagr didn't name the teams he said offered more money.

I thought the same thing.

And what the fuck...trying to win a Cup?

Someone hasn't been following recent transactions in the NHL...at all
