SAN DIEGO -- San Diego Chargers wide receiver Vincent Jackson has been arrested on suspicion of drunken driving, the California Highway Patrol said Tuesday.
Officer Ray Scheidnes said Jackson failed sobriety tests shortly after 2 a.m. Tuesday on state Route 52, west of Interstate 805. He said he didn't know Jackson's blood alcohol level.
The CHP said Jackson was taken to a San Diego County sheriff's department detention facility and released.
Jackson just had the first 1,000-yard season of his career, catching 59 passes for a team-high 1,098 yards and seven touchdowns. He became the first Chargers wide receiver to have 1,000 yards since Curtis Conway in 2001.
The Chargers will visit Pittsburgh in a playoff game Sunday.
