Free agent Allen Iverson said that the calf injury that ended his Turkish career prematurely is all healed.

Predictably, Iverson wants another shot at the NBA. But he didn't get any nibbles from the league last summer, turned 36 today and is coming off this major calf injury. We'd be absolutely shocked if an NBA team brought him in to distract them. Look for the financially-troubled Iverson to play overseas somewhere next season.

Wow, Iverson has fallen so fast, but I expect some team to at least bring him in for a workout. He could probably come in for about 15 minutes per game and contribute some scoring, but that's about it, and we all know that Iverson doesn't want to be on the bench at all.

Thoughts?

I'd take him if he was willing to accept the role as a bench player. He can be lethal off the bench for teams who need a scorer.

i would imagine that miami would look at him. he should just be ring chasing and forget about big minutes. and with wade and lebron i dont see ivo being a huge distraction.

Realistically, he's a 36 year old guard that has been out of the league for a year, wants to join a team in a potential strike shortened season, and will not fetch much more than a veteran's minimum.

He should cut his losses and retire.

I don't think I can see someone giving him a shot. I'm not exactly sure, but I don't think he's done amazing in Europe.

I think I read he would finally be willing to accept a backup role.

I can see him in South Beach... Hes an underrated Passer and probably still can contribute 10 points per game off the bench... Let him come into camp and see what he's got... Nada to lose just cut him.

At least I hope so.

Honestly wouldn't mind him on the Bulls as a backup PG/SG.

It's not gonna happen though. Can't really see him in a Bulls jersey, no matter how much I'd like it.

The NBA is an athletic league now; not a lot teams are really interested in players who were in the league for awhile and knows how to win like they did back then if you ask me. Anyways, if Iverson does get signed from a team, he would be a role player. Injury problems are gonna be the most affective for Iverson and that hurts him a lot.

I can really see Allen Iverson going to Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, or the Chicago Bulls (those are some of the teams I think that would be interested in him) because whether they need a backup guard or fit with an old team like the Celtics or Lakers.
