Sources from both the Nets and Mavericks have confirmed that Rod Thorn and Mark Cuban have agreed to a trade that will send Jason Kidd to Dallas.

Kidd and Malik Allen will be going to the Mavericks, and in return the Nets will receive Devin Harris, Trenton Hassell, DeSagana Diop, Maurice Ager, two first round picks, and Keith Van Horn in a sign-and-trade agreement.

The trade could be sent for approval to the league office Monday.

Kidd wore No. 32 for the Suns, so that's a possibility. Brandon Bass, the current owner of that number, is the rare NBA player with a six-figure salary, so I'm sure he'd be willing to make a deal. Plus, Bass is the Mavs' best finisher, so you'd figure he'd go out of his way to make one of the best passers in NBA history happy.

I read somewhere (think it was Yahoo, but can't find a link) that Kidd was considering going with No. 2 to symbolize his second chance in Dallas. That'd be just swell -- and fitting, since Keith Van Horn was the last Mav to wear that number.
