Iman Shumpert reportedly will get (or seek) 10M to 11M annually on his next contract.

I know we have Cav and Knick fans so I was curious, is that too much for him?

He's not worth that much, and he's definitely not getting that much.

Cavs are probably going to match any offer though

He's going to get a Alec Burks payday is what I've heard. It's very possible the Cavs could be paying Shumpert and JR around 20M annually.

Their numbers really aren't comparable. He's arguably been worse in the post-season than the regular season, he's just had a few great moments that have shined the spotlight.

Shumpert is definitely going to be searching for top dollar, it's just a matter of what that is for him. I think JR Smith settles for less than people think, but yes, they will be paying them a lot of money. Don't think Dan Gilbert cares, however. Money has never been an issue for him. They don't have to worry about the repeater tax because of the incoming salary cap boost, as well, but I don't think that's an issue anyway. The Cavs are planning on using Haywood's un-guaranteed deal to add 8-10 million MORE in payroll as well.

I'd say Shump deserves $6-8M, which could be pushed to $10 due to the rising cap

That 6-8 mill only converts to 10 for when the cap explodes to 108 million, at which point Shumpert would be in the final year of his contract, or the season before the final year.

He will get overpaid but as mentioned it wont be as impactful due to the salary cap increase. I also think JR will take as much as he can get cuz hes a punk bitch.
