The 76ers are attempting to trade swingman Andre Iguodala, league sources have told Bob Finnan of the Mourning Journal.

There is no active dialogue between the two teams, but a source said to keep an eye on the Cavaliers.

Cleveland has a $14.5 million trade exception they could use to acquire Iguodala.

Looks like the Cavaliers really want Iggy and at the same time, the Sixers really want to give away Iggy because they think he doesn't mesh up well with rookie Evan Turner.. I really think this could happen.

thoughts?

It makes sense for the 76ers because they have too many guards right now... But why do the Cavs want Iggy?

He will kind of replace LBJ. Same kind of player who gets close to average a triple double... I think they should get Iggy next year so they have a strong pick this year

I don't think Iggy will help much with their rebuilding process though. I think just tanking and getting lottery picks for a few years is the best thing to do with the Cavs.

The Cavs shouldn't spend all their money on Iggy. It's not like they'd become instant contenders with him.

I agree.. I would kind of build with a young core, instead of investing it all back into one player.

It's just Finnan throwing out speculation, it says there is no active dialogue between the two teams. I'd be for trading for him though, since it's not like we're getting anyone better in FA..

Iggy would help the Cavs a lot. He brings that solid player that they need. He'd compliment Mo and Jamison really nicely.

My biggest question is why the 76ers want to get rid of him. Iggy is a good player and has proven himself while Turner has not.

iggy would be nice with the cavs. and he does kind ahelp the rebuilding process. lol

hes still fairly young, and can be a solid scoring option for them until they get a stronger team. but even with him they would struggle to get to the playoffs so theyd still likely have that lottery to build with.

I can understand this deal for both teams. The Cavs need some type of go-to scorer and the 76ers wanna open things up for et.

Any team with Andre Iguodala as the main offensive threat is not going to compete in the NBA.
