Can Rondo take over as a star once the Big 3 aren't around, or does he not have what it takes?
I'm really not sold that he has the skill to lead a team without other stars surrounding him. His assists are definitely hyped up because of the shots the big three make for him, and as for his scoring, he just cannot shoot the ball. When he's the guy trying to lead the C's, defenses are going to lock in on him instead of letting him run one on one. When that happens, I don't think he'll be able to get to the rim like he does, and I think his scoring will decrease, not increase. Rondo is not that great of a "team leader".
To make a long story short, my answer to this question is: Rondo's numbers would lower a lot without the big three, and the team would take a big drop in wins. It sucks, but sometimes the truth does suck. His stats are so padded because of the roster he's playing with.
