What's the best way for the Knicks to stop Roy Hibbert? He's been a menace against them and he's basically making Tyson Chandler his bitch in this round.

I think the key to limiting him on offense is making him work on defense. He's done a great job just camping in the lane and going straight up in this series, which has led to the Knicks shooting some really bad percentages in the paint. But you have to make him move, put him in as many pick and roll situations as possible. I mean Hibbert is a big center, but he is also VERY unathletic in a league full of athletic freaks. He's too slow to hedge on pick and rolls or shade the ball handler, so instead he just kind of sits back and waits for the ball handler to make his move.

And people said Amar'e was useless...

That's a good idea though. I've been saying for a while they need to try and feed more P&R and try to get some low posts with K-Mart or something to try and draw some fouls. I think working him on the defensive side. I think they could utilize Amar'e to that extent. Play him like a C from before they had Melo, and have him post up and run some P&R to work Hibbert and maybe draw an extra foul or two.

and of course they need to move the ball more to create those 3pt opportunities. I think this series is a perfect example of why Woodson was a horrible playoff coach prior to NY -- he falls back on bad tendencies too easily. They're too quick to abandon what they've done all season on offense and just go back to sloppy passing and relying on shooters who just aren't getting it done (JKidd, JR Smith)

Put out a smaller lineup

Have Felton, Kidd, JR, Melo, Novak out there. The only "post" player out there is Melo now, and if Melo is guarded by Hib, it's over for the Pacers.

Just drain 3s

Eh. That's a double edged sword that would probably, more often than not, be in favor of the Pacers. Make shots or get destroyed on the boards.

The Pacers are the better team, plain and simple. Why so many analysts picked NYK is beyond me. I assume they're told to to satiate Knicks fans who think this team is more than inconsistent. They're quite boring to watch, too.

I think more or less the Knicks need to wear him out more just like Nolafan suggested. I think that running Amare just like I suggested at around 20 MPG would make Hibbert move more since Amare is effective outside and inside the paint, unlike Chandler. This causes higher movement down low which will force Hibbert to move and tire him.

There's a very effective way to guard Roy, and that's to keep him off the block. Chandler needs to step up and be MUCH stronger in the post if they want any chance at all to stop Roy. Hibbert isn't a very strong center, there's no denying that, and he's not a very good offensive threat for outside of 8-10 feet. Sure, he can knock down the occasional jump shot, but he killed them with his hooks at the rim in Game 3. If they want to stop him offensively, they need to find a way to push him out of his 7-9 foot comfort zone.

The Knicks could go small as someone earlier suggested, but I personally think that would just make things easier for the Pacers. Granted, you would think that Hibbert would guard Anthony, but the Pacers would simply move Hibbert to the least athletic player out there, and then have him abuse Melo on offense. It would be something that could very easily backfire on New York.

The only way that I see to be an effective way for New York to slow him down without changing their entire makeup of their team would be to push Roy farther away from the basket and make him take contested shots. You can't allow him to get to the rim as easily as he was able to in Game 3. If he's able to do that in Game 4, the Pacers will be heading back to the Garden with a 3-1 series lead.
