The Portland Trail Blazers will acquire the 27th pick in the draft from New Orleans in exchange for cash considerations, according to a report from ESPN.

The deal was agreed to verbally between the two teams on Tuesday night, according to the source. The teams have scheduled a trade call with the league in the morning to make the deal official.

Kind of a surprise to me. I was thinking that with all the young talent the Blazers have they'd be trading one of there picks for cash, not buying one.. Maybe they will use it in a deal to receive a better PG/SF or move up in the draft.

No prob, as for this trade. The Blazers will prolly use this for a trade as el said. They could now package this with there pick to get some vets.
Or they could even use it to just make them better in the future.

There gonna be good in the future if they don't move those picks. Greg Oden, Brandon Roy, LaMarcus Aldridge, 13th Overall Pick, 27th Overall Pick, Josh McRoberts, Sergio Rodriguez and Martell Webster.

They can take Batum there, or trade the pick. I don't see anything else happening.

Would Bill Walker be too much of a reach?

Whats weird is most people are saying that they don't really need anything from this draft, yet they have 5 picks. I'm hoping they can get some bench depth at the least.

If the Pacers do get TJ Ford from that JO trade, they won't take D.J. Augustin. And I think the Blazers (if they keep the 13th pick) will go ahead and take him, which IMO is a great pick. They just need to trade the mass of PG's they got. In the draft or after.

I think a true PG is what they need. Not Rodriguez or Blake or Jack.
