There is a lot of buzz around Charlotte about the return of the Charlotte Hornets (pun intended) and everyone is excited for the upcoming season.

I understand all the excitement, as it was time for a change from the Bobcat name that never had much success. But, its not like Alonzo Mourning and Larry Johnson are coming back and playing. The Hornets will have the same core players the Bobcats had last year, its almost the same team except the addition of Noah Vonleh and P.J. Hairston.

Charlotte Hornets owner Michael Jordan has said he plans on adding another super-star to the team like when the team signed Al Jefferson last year in free agency.

Right now the biggest name on the Hornets radar is Lance Stephenson, and I couldnt be more high on him. A lot of Hornets fans on Twitter have said they dont want the team to over-pay for Lance Stephenson, but I am willing to. The Indiana Pacers offered Lance a 5 year, $44 million dollar contract, which Lance turned down. He believes he is worth more than that. I disagree with him on that, he is not worth more than that for the Indiana Pacers, but he is for the Charlotte Hornets, and I will tell you why.

Can we call them the Bobnets for a bit, cause I instantly thought of the Pelicans when I read the title lol.

But anyways, Lance would be a great fit on that team.

Giving big money to Lance Stephenson is too big of a risk for the Hornets to make.

Al Jefferson was a safe signing, you know he's going to play minimal defense and put up 18/10. Lance could improve on his numbers this past season or, more than likely, regress and let his erratic behavior hamper his game.

They're never going to attract a superstar FA like a LeBron or a Melo, they're going to have to draft that guy and so far they've struck out.

A guy like Kyle Lowry would have been perfect for them, you no longer have Kemba trying to to play PG. Bringing in a guy like Luol Deng would have been a nice move too if they could have gotten Lowry.

Three fringe all-stars and some young pieces that you hope become something around them.

I agree with BC

But if they coulda got him for something close to the deal Indy offered him, I wouldn't of been mad at all.

Lance would be the man in Charlotte. Fans would gravitate towards him, he don't even know it.. I wish it would happen but MJ ain't goin take the chance

I think it's a pretty good fit. They need more scoring and play making. He provides both.

I could see saying Charlotte can't risk it, but at the same time I could see the argument that Charlotte needs to take the risk.

Also, I'm with Rip. Anytime I see Hornets I immediately think it's New Orleans.

Guess this may happen since Utah matched that offer..

Long as Lamce knows this is BigAls team he'll be just fine

Just a backcourt of Lance/Kemba could be problematic
