-Have heard from a very good "insider" that upward around 29 teams have contacted the Hornets to measure their interest in trading CP.
-Four of the confirmed teams, Grizzlies, Knicks, Blazers, and of course the Nets.
-Seems like no team has really stepped up and made a offer the Hornets would consider "serious." For example, Portland wants CP? Give us Roy and more. Grizzlies? Give us Mayo, another good youngster, and more. etc etc
-I also saw a member post "Bynum for Paul" in another thread. Believe it or not, I've heard from the same "insider" that the Lakers contacted the Hornets with a trade like that, but smartly the Hornets declined. This went down around the trade deadline.
I think this could be the "official" CP3 trade rumor thread. Here's a few points I've gathered:Nets president Rod Thorn, who pulled off the blockbuster deal for Jason Kidd in 2001, has expressed interest in Paul in recent weeks. Reportedly, the Nets have offered Devin Harris and the No. 3 overall pick in Thursday's NBA draft, but the Hornets, starting a new era under first-time coach Monty Williams, are not ready to part with the face of the franchise and their only box-office draw.
