Free agent guard Thabo Sefolosha has reached agreement on a three-year, $12 million contract with the Atlanta Hawks, league sources told RealGM.

The deal will be fully guaranteed with no team or player options.

Sefolosha, 30, had a run of five-plus seasons as the starting shooting guard for the Oklahoma City Thunder, and he helped established a defensive identity along with Kendrick Perkins within a young roster. Sefolosha averaged 6.3 points and 3.6 rebounds a season ago. He was removed as the starter late in the postseason due to a lack of accuracy on his jump shot.

Several teams made inquiries to Sefolosha inside the first three days of free agency, including interest from the Miami Heat on Wednesday. Sefolosha held meetings with the front offices of the Toronto Raptors and Washington Wizards over the past two days.

Sefolosha was a first round pick of the Chicago Bulls in 2006, and swiftly made a defensive impact as a primary stopper on the NBAs top offensive talents. The 6-foot-7 swingman played two seasons with the Bulls before his trade to Oklahoma City in 2009.

Sefolosha has averages of 6.3 points and 3.6 rebounds in his eight-year NBA career.

Think this is a good signing for Atlanta. Think they needed some depth on the wing, a guy that can play good defense on the perimeter, and he's another shooter to add to their rotation.

This is great for Oklahoma City--now Scott Brooks can't play him ahead of talent with higher ceilings.
