ESPN's John Clayton predicts that the Seahawks will not be able to re-sign free agent Matt Hasselbeck.

If the Seahawks were serious about retaining the 36-year-old Hasselbeck, they would've gotten a deal done before the lockout. "I think they'll let him test the market," speculates Clayton. "At this stage, I'd say the odds are now slipping away that Matt's going to be (in Seattle)." Clayton mentioned the Dolphins, Cardinals, and Vikings as potential Hasselbeck suitors. Apr 12, 10:10 AM

He's too old, if I were any of those teams, I wouldn't want him.

This. Carroll is trying to bring a youthful approach to the team, like he has with every single of his teams, and it is just not going to work with Matt. He's finished anyways though.
