Darius Miles logged seven minutes Tuesday night, the last time he'll see in a Memphis uniform. At least for the foreseeable future.

The Grizzlies waived Miles soon after their 94-87 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. The 6-9 forward was told of the team's decision before the players and coaches boarded a plane for New Jersey, where the Griz play tonight.

Griz general manager Chris Wallace said cutting Miles, who signed a nonguaranteed deal on Dec. 12, had more to do with the injury to center Darko Milicic than Miles' ability.

"It's tough to guarantee somebody right now and use up flexibility," Wallace said.

"We'll take a breather and see how long this thing takes with Darko. There's no other signing imminent but we'll take a look at the field a little bit. If something needs to be addressed, we can." -- Memphis Commercial Appeal

Damn, Blazers luck out again lol.
I wanna see him ball again, but I'd also like the Blazers to get even better.

He's threw. I really believed this signing d miles was done because portland supposedly backed out of the conley deal. Could this mean they have reached a deal or the reason they said.

Haha, watch a team sign him just to make sure the Blazers have to pay the contract.

I could see a top team in the West do it, like the Lakers or someone. Just so the Blazers can't get the 1up.

I would do it if I was a Western Conference GM. Hell even a Eastern GM.

Those sneaky little Blazers!
They were keeping a big secret from us. Miles has to play 10 games in order to put his salary back on the Blazers payroll. What they didnt tell you was that it was 10 games between the start of Preseason until the end of the NBA Finals.
Turns out that Miles played 6 preseason games with the Celtics and 2 regular season games with Memphis. So that leaves him with 8 total!

like I said, those pesky sneaky Blazers. This is gonna get them. I know some team will sign him to a 10-day and give him his 2 more games. bwahahahaha!

There is an easy solution to that.
Blazer grab him off of waivers and stick him on the bench.
Problem solved.

And you think the NBA would allow that?

No, they would never allow that.

He's on waivers, he wpuldnt have a choice.
The NBA would never allow the Blazers or any team to do that.
Sign a player YOU RELEASED and then BENCH HIM so you DON'T NEED TO PAY HIM.

Never will happen.
