GQ went looking for the worst fans in sports and only one NBA team made the list. The Los Angeles Lakers. Here's what GQ wrote:

Congratulations, Angelenos! You are the fairest of America’s fair-weather fans! The Lakers unfaithful abandoned their team en masse when Magic retired in 1991, then reconfirmed their fickleness by sending local TV ratings plummeting 30 percent after Shaq departed in 2004. Meanwhile, in these championship days, the Staples Center is more bar scene than sports complex, where fans can’t be bothered to clap—their hands are too busy texting.

“The focus is sometimes not on the court,” coach Phil Jackson has said. “It’s on the people in the crowd.” Which explains why eight box suites were recently combined into an offshoot of an abominable nightclub, the Hyde Lounge. After VIPs pass a clipboard gauntlet—at a sports stadium—they can eat $21 nachos at a crocodile-skin bar while waiting for the space to transform into a postbuzzer dance club. When it’s time to leave, a valet will even bring around their bandwagon.

i say this all the time, i hate laker fans

here's an example that i've used before
they alway chant BOSTON SUCKS. so f'ing annoying. i dont even consider it a real rivalry
yes they have a history, even played 2 out of 3 years recently splitting

but both teams fan bases didnt care when the other team sucked. real rivalries care

anyways, it was January. Lakers got killed by Boston at Staples. next game the lakers BARELY beat the struggling rockets without some of their better players like Brooks (biggest lakers killer in the league currently)
that same night Boston won by about 20
and after the game? "BOSTON SUCKS! BOSTON SUCKS" during the postgame show which is filmed with barricades outside Staples

seriously? they have a better record, killed you, won tonight by 20, you barely beat a struggling team and the celtics suck?

stupid shit like that
living with so many laker fans is so annoying sometimes. im the only sane one and i know you guys hate me too haha

it's just stupid to me when i hear the lakers announcer in the beginning of the season go "uh oh boston won" "good news laker fans, boston lost" im like wtf? who cares? it's the first 20 games and he does this lol

then i hear the redundant "boston sucks" chants every single laker game, win or lose even when boston won by 50 the same night. it's just so stupid to me

they're overdoing it some imo.

And I don't see anything wrong with that. I don't know how people could criticize you for wanting a guy off your team who was demanding trades.

I could be wrong, but it seems to me that people tend to want to go to Lakers games more to see celebrities there, Like Nicholson, instead of the actually game. Seems to just always be associated with the games. It's not "Who are they playing?" It's "Who will be there?"
