TNT funnyman and former NBA standout Charles Barkley gives us his five biggest surprises of the season so far:



1. The struggles of the Knicks, Heat and Bulls. I was excited for the season because I thought these teams were good. They're not.


2. The Hawks, who'd better make the playoffs so I can act like I know what I'm talking about.


3. How good of a player Portland's Brandon Roy has turned out to be.


4. How well the Lakers are playing.


5. How long it has taken the Mavericks to get over their playoff hangover

And what proof do we have that they will. I'm not making predictions, but this team has gotten off to hot starts in the past and died down. I know this year will be know different, it's just a matter of if any other team in the East can take their spot. This team will finish somewhere between 7-11...
