Giants offer Cruz $7M a year, seeks $10-11M a year

The Giants have reportedly extended an offer worth $7 million annually with more than $20 million in guarantees.

Roc Nation will have to bridge a sizeable gap, as Cruz expects a much bigger pay day. Several NFL sources tell the Daily News that Cruz's last request under former agent Tom Condon was closer to $10-$11 million per year.

7 mill isn't enough? Christ, 10-11 mill might be speculation but I can see him wanting that much.

I understand he wants more, but with that 1st pick being at risk nobody is going to offer him that much. 
 
It's not like the Giants are being dicks. They really don't have a lot of CAP flexibility to offer him a good contract. $7M is reasonable.

Yea, the problem is they want to resign both guys, and Hakeem won't be cheap either. Although since he's missed time each year with injuries, Hakeem shouldn't be that bad.

Hope Cruz realizes that he will probably never make more than Hakeem Nicks on this Giants team.

Damn man, 7 mill is perfectly reasonable. Higher than Welker and Amendola which makes sense. I would go as high as 8 and not bend from that. Cruz needs to understand that we need to pay him and Nicks at the same time and they have a great thing going right now. I think it helps that the agent is the same one as Eli Manning so that should be helpful.
