Antonio Gates likely out for rest of regular season
The Chargers offense showed the last two games that they can do just fine without Antonio Gates. It looks like they will have to continue doing so for the next two weeks.

Gates told Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune that it’s “kind of the goal” to get Gates back for the postseason at the earliest — if the Chargers make it. Gates was enjoying perhaps his best season in an amazing career, but has missed three games with turf toe and a torn plantar fascia in his foot.

The approach makes a lot of sense for the Chargers. This a team shooting for the Super Bowl.

They need some help to get to the playoffs, but they have shown they can score points without their best players. With Vincent Jackson back in the mix, they should have enough weapons to win in Cincinnati and Denver the next two games.

Definitely a fantasy football kick in the sack for me.

I have him on my fantasy football team as well, definitely didn't want to see this.

This is not good for the Chargers' chances in the playoffs. But getting Jackson back does help.

I only had him on one of my fantasy teams, but that team sucked anyways so that didn't hurt me.

As a fan standpoint, I really hate to see this. Gates is one of my favorite players, and I always like watching him get it done out there. Even though he had been battling injury this year, he still put up decent numbers. Chargers will definitely miss him but losing Gates and gaining Jackson lessens the pain of the loss.

Gates is one of those tough guys though that can surprise us all and end up playing.

Well, I was kind of hoping that I might get lucky and see him out for the Playoffs, too.

However, good thing for me in Fantasy Football!

Gates is definitely a trooper but this seems more serious then most of his smaller injuries.
