Miami Dolphins quarterback David Garrard is expected to undergo arthroscopic knee surgery for an undisclosed injury, sources have confirmed to ESPN's Chris Mortensen.

The projected recovery time is unknown, the sources told Mortensen.

Garrard was expected to start Friday night in the Dolphins' preseason opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers but suffered a mysterious knee injury that some Dolphins players still do not know about, league sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

Garrard had been the favorite to win the Dolphins' starting QB job. He signed a one-year contract in March with the team.

So is Tannehill lol
I think I heard Tannehill was out performing Moore even.
However like I've said before, Moore is a gamer. Not a practice player.
We shall see tonight who looks better between Tanny and Moore.

I'm not a Tannehill fan lol I think Moore will end up beating him out.

I guess we'll see tonight though.

Tanny was over drafted by about 15-20 picks, but he's still got a ton of potential.

Exactly, he was 2nd Rounder imo.

And he's only been playing QB for what, 2 years? He'll grow more in time in time, but he's not the type of guy that should've been taken in the top 10.

I felt he was at home around 20-28. And he's been playing QB his whole life. It was just when he got to A&M they switched him to WR because Jerrod Johnson won the job, when Tannehill was only a freshman. Plus this is the exact same offense he was in at A&M with Sherman. I won't be at all surprised if he plays his way into starting.

The only thing in his game I hate is his deep ball. He has no deep touch. Everything else is fixable.
