Good to see, Garrard is a very good and smart QB. I mean he only threw 3 INTs all last season, 1 was in the snow, and another was deflected. I really like this move by the Jags.QB Garrard signs extension with Jags after career season
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Quarterback David Garrard has signed a contract extension with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Terms of Monday's deal were not released. But Garrard and his agent, Albert Irby, had been looking for something similar to the six-year, $67.5 million contract Dallas quarterback Tony Romo signed last season.
The 30-year-old Garrard is coming off his best season. He completed 64 percent of his passes for 2,509 yards and 18 touchdowns despite missing three games because of an ankle injury. He threw just three interceptions and finished with the NFL's third-highest passer rating (102.2).
A longtime backup who beat out Byron Leftwich last preseason, Garrard was entering the final year of a four-year deal that paid about $2 million annually.
