Forum Update #1

A new year. A lot of new face.
Thus bringing on SI's first Forum Update. This is something that will occur when drastic changes or made, or I need to remind the forum of something.

Before I get started with the changes, I want to discuss something else first. Lately, there has been a LOT of fighting going on here. I've probably given out more warnings in the last couple days than I have since becoming an SI Admin. And quite frankly, it's not something that should be occurring at all. The site is full of grown ass men, we shouldn't be fighting like a bunch of six year olds. I'm not saying not to debate, at all. Debates is what keeps this website going strong. But the way some of you guys argue is just laughable. I want to reiterate that fact that PERSONAL ATTACKS WILL NOT BE TOLERATED AT ALL on this website. From here on out, if we catch personal attacks, punishments will be enforced. When having a debate there is literally no reason at all for one to call someone out, or call someone a profound name. Like really guys, we are all pretty much adults here. These personal attacks are just outrageous lately, and need to stop now.
In addition, this whole hating .ae thing is going to stop now as well. I really do not care how strict he is, or anything else he does. I do not regret adding him an admin whatsoever, and he will not being demoted from this spot anytime soon. He does way more good for this site, that a lot of you people are too blind to see. The things he has done for this site are pretty remarkable, and the way he is being treated lately is completely disrespectful. Once again, needs to stop.

Now for the next agenda. The changing of the staff!
Couple members have stepped down from the staff, which results in us having to change the staff pretty drastically. I want to thank those who were on the staff, and thank them for the job they have done. Only can hope they rebound and are one day back on the staff here. So without further adieu, might as well just reveal the new crew.

Other/NCAA: Mooche

All the new additions are deserving of their new roles. Like to thank them for stepping up and accepting their new roles. As you can see we decided to cut the whole Gaming Mod spot. After FPS decided to step down, we decided the role of a Gaming Mod really was no longer needed here. Thus why you don't see it there anymore.

Next order of business, GFX area. Lately the graphics section has been pretty much pitiful. As a member of the graphics section, your role really is not that difficult at all. Filling requests and posting CnC should be second nature, but the entire staff has seemed to not be able to fulfill that. So we are responding by AGAIN cleaning out the entire staff of the GFX and Cut crews. Meaning there is no longer any members on those staffs. This has absolutely nothing to do with talent or maybe not even production. If you felt you were doing a good job, then ignore what I am saying and I would like to thank you. With that I would like to announce the new leaders of the crews.

GFX Crew: әightninә.
Cut Crew: PTT81

They will assume their positions immediately. They will be implementing any of their team requirements as well as try-out threads for the future. But for now, those who like to be apart of EITHER of the teams, please PM me to let me know. After that, I will be talking to the crew leaders and deciding if you would be good for the team. Before PMing me, please keep in mind that as a crew member you job is to give CnC as well as fulfill requests for members. As well as anything else that the crew members ask you to do. We really aren't playing around this time. If they fail this time, GFX crews will be terminated completely. And I would hate to get rid of such a historic group on this website.

Love the change. What people need to realize is that being on the crew isnt just for the color you gotta actively cnc, fill requests, etc.. if you arent able to do this i don't see a reason for you to be on the crew.

I'd like to thank Sal, and the rest of the staff for giving me the opportunity to lead the GFX Team. I have some good ideas that I think will get the GFX Crew back to what they once were, and plans to keep it active for as long as I'm around.

Thanks to those who just finished up their staff roles. DannyBro was an excellent NFL Mod and he's going through what we all go through from time to time. Real life is about to get busy, unsure about being able to maintain a high level of activity. I respect his decision to vacate but he said it best, "I know Palmer will do a great job in taking over my section". Zach is also a great member who has a lot going on during his week. I know he wishes he could be more active during the week but he was also willing to turn over his position in the best interests of the site. Zach remains a valued member, always eager to take on responsibility around here. PTT81 moving to NHL Mod is an outstanding situation for us. It was a consensus to get one of our best NHL guru's into that spot. Also welcome the guido back to the staff. He's done a fine job in the past...no more of an introduction needed.

Onto the GFX situation. This is not a GFX site but we have always placed a great deal of pride in the quality of sigs, walls, and LP's that come out of this forum. I have always paid very close attention to the GFX area of SI and I have taken part time to time. Once upon a time, I rebuilt our fledgling GFX Team with a bunch of guys who weren't necessarily the greatest artists...but they were capable, they were learning, and they wanted nothing more than to have their artwork displayed in people's signature space and win SOTW. I'd have to double-check but I am pretty sure that group I just spoke of...turned out to be some high caliber artists.

I won't sugarcoat, I feel like there was a lot of deadweight on our GFX & Cut Crews....and I don't mean ability-wise. A lot of debate began over member requests not being completed and even classic, must-have things like SOTW & COTW were slow and/or dead in the water. This is unacceptable, I don't care how sick your shiz is. Nothing was better than all those guys who were working on new skins designs b/c they wanted to, some good stuff was being produced, but of course....egos clashed and it turned into a giant pissing match.

I congratulate Sam on being handed the reigns of the GFX Team. I look forward to watching him compile a group of hard-working artists that will leave no stone unturned when it comes to making SI better as a community. Wiping out the entire GFX and Cut Crew as they were isn't a negative reflection on all...but it was a necessary measure. To those of you who were pulling your weight and doing the right things...its too easy to just get you back on the team. If that statement applies to you, let Rip know ASAP.

2011 is going to be the best year in a long time at this site. Regardless of the recent shit-storms and member spouts that have gone down, this place is showing signs of life that have been missing for a long time.

Things have been going on that shouldn't be going on, more so than ever, it was time to do something. While you and a few others may encourage it, there's also a lot of us that don't. The rules have never really been enforced, but now people are acting up, in several ways and things needed to be done. Sorry you don't support the rules, I doubt they are going to change, however.
