The 49ers have reportedly agreed to a new two-year deal with QB Alex Smith.
The details aren't yet available, but it's expected to be for typical backup quarterback money at around $2-$3 million per season. Though Smith will be given the courtesy of "battling" Shaun Hill for the starter's job, Hill has the upper hand -- and a much better track record.
