NBA teams received tentative projections from the league warning that the cap is estimated to drop to somewhere between $50.4 million and $53.6 million for the 2010-11 season
In addition to the announcement of the 2009-10 salary cap, NBA teams received tentative projections from the league office warning that the cap is estimated to drop to somewhere between $50.4 million and $53.6 million for the 2010-11 season.
The official league memorandum, obtained by ESPN.com, forecasts a dip in basketball-related income in the 2009-10 season of 2.5 percent to 5 percent, which threatens to take the 2010-11 cap down some $5 million to $8 million from last season's $58.7 million salary cap.

Even getting one will be tough if it really does drop like 10 mil.Bahaha to the people who were so high on getting 2 superstars
We're still gonna get two.Bahaha to the people who were so high on getting 2 superstars
Care to name them for us?We're still gonna get two.
Wade isnt, as for LeBron it seems up in the air now.I don't know how you judge super stars but the only two super stars I see in the 2010 FA class are Dwyane Wade and LeBron James, and neither are going to New York.
And going to the Knicks to play with Danilo Gallinari is very enticing. You guys bringing in Shaq is nice.
But why does it make him more likley to stay? The Cavs havent built the right team around him, Shaq only has so many years left, so does Ilgauskas. So he's left with West and Williams.
And I doubt thats enticing enough to stay.
As for Amare being a superstar, he's one of the top PF's in the game, so I would classify him as a superstar.
Alot of people wouldn't say Dirk is a superstar because he isn't a skilled defender and is "soft"Hughes - 13mil expiring
Harrington - 10mil expiring
Mobley - 9mil expiring
Darko - 7mil expiring
Duhon - 6mil exiring
Thats 45mil coming off the books Rip, we have just 18mil in contracts for the 2010/11 season.. meaning we'll have enough for 2. ESPN needs to check their books again lol
Yeah it is. Alot more enticing then playing with a team that has already proven they cant get it done. Not to mention Chandler and possibly Nate/Lee or whoever we get for them.
And your standards for a superstar are fair, but I still consider him a superstar on the fact alone he's a top PF
