Eric Gordon will not play in the New Orleans Hornets' regular season opener against the Spurs.

Gordon missed the entire preseason due to his persistent right knee issues.

Monty Williams said Gordon is likely out indefinitely.
MAX!

hopefully this doesnt turn into another year long injury but damn, coulda let him walk and probably got some draft picks.

I don't even think he's injured, he is just a immature loser. Hopefully he proves me wrong.

Were they supposed to let him walk? Even if they had to overpay, matching was the right move.

And Austin has looked far better at point than he has at SG, fwiw.

wade didnt look bad either and when he became a fulltime shooting guard he looked a lot better.

It seems like they've finally diagnosed (or released) what is wrong with him. He has a really bad case of jumpers knee apparently.

They're taking the next few weeks to strengthen the knee or tendon, or whatever. I don't know.

they're making it worse than what that injury is. that hurts but its nothing a pro making as much as him should be missing this much time over.

I agree, but I'm on both sides. Why play him? You invested a lot of money in him and he's what, a young 24 I believe?

The guy is injury prone, he's hurt ALOT. But this is the first real recurring injury he has had, I mean his knee was giving him troubles before the trade. So why would they risk it when they know they aren't really playing for anything this year? Let him take the appropriate amount of time to get that knee as close to 100% you can get, and in two or so years maybe you benefit from sitting him for this long.

But like I said, I'm on both sides. You paid him a lot of money and he's missing time for a injury that shouldn't cause him to miss this much time.

Most fans want him gone but I'm taking the wait and see approach. I think he's overpaid, but I believe a lot of players are overpaid in this league. IMO if we can fast forward two years and he's playing in say 70-75 games a season then I don't think anyone would have a problem with it. If in two years he's still missing games maybe you could dump him on some dumb GM who thinks his talent is worth the risk, hell maybe we already have before the two year window. If he could just stay healthy he'd live up to that contract no doubt.

everyone is overpaid in this league because teams feel the need to over crazy contratcs to try and keep or pry players away.
