Elway’s not a Tebow fan
Lots of people have purchased Tim Tebow jerseys lately. John Elway isn’t one of them.

The new executive V.P. of football operations in Denver needs to hire a head coach and, ultimately, the team needs to decide on a strategy for dealing with the franchise’s second first-round pick in 2010. For now, the news for Tebow isn’t good.

“I don’t think Tim Tebow is a good quarterback at this level at this time,” Elway told Peter King of NBC and Sports Illustrated.

The news could be good for former Broncos coach Josh McDaniels. As King explained it, if/when McDaniels lands in a new city as an offensive coordinator (possibly the Twin Cities), McDaniels’ first order of business could be to lobby his team to trade for Tebow. But as King points out, no trades of players can be done until the next league year begins. And the next league year won’t begin until a new labor deal has been negotiated. (Or, technically, until the league declares an impasse and implements new work rules pending an agreement or the union decertifies, blocking a lockout.)

And so just like McDaniels’ decision to dump Jay Cutler, Elway could be running Tebow out of town.

Denver fans are going to look back on the 2 years after Mike Shannahan era...and cringe b/c of what a waste of time, money, and effort it was. I'm not so sure John Elway has all the right answers but I glad Pat Bowlan finally opted to get somebody into a Personnel Management role.

Those 2 Years scared me man lol and right now idk who the hell will be QB next year. First Orton might be traded for a 2nd and now Elway might get rid of Tebow, the saga continues.

That's a pretty dick thing to say after getting a job with the team. Unnecessary bashing of your players is never a good thing.

Elway Denies Trade Rumor Involving Tebow

ESPN - John Elway took to his Twitter page on Saturday to deny speculation that the Broncos would trade Tim Tebow.

The speculation started when Sports Illustrated's Peter King implied on NBC that Elway might trade Tebow to the team that hires former Broncos coach Josh McDaniels as offensive coordinator.

Elway was recent hired as Denver's vice president of football operations.

In response to King's report, Elway tweeted: "To clarify my thoughts on Tim Tebow... I think he's a very good football player, and if anyone can turn themselves into a great QB, Tim can.

A few things first.

1- Elway probably knows a good amount about what it takes to be a high end QB.
2- Elway's resume has zero days prior to this in a personnel department.

It's best to shut up and say nothing at all about yours or any other players. Nothing can be taken out of context if you did not say it.

Is it just me or are all of the quarterbacks of the 90's assholes?

Marino, Elway, Favre, Aikman and Everett...

Elway is doing a little damage control. He doesn't like the fact that Tim isn't a prototypical NFL quarterback and he doesn't believe Tebow will emerge as a good starting quarterback in the NFL. This is the consensus, has been since Tebow was a senior at Florida...no sure why all the outrage over it? Okay, maybe he shouldn't of made it known so soon...but whatever, John's not out to kid anyone.

Elway was in complete control of the Colorado Crush when they won the Arena League championship. He owned and operated the team. I know the Arena League is lol, but it's a little bit of experience.

He's not the only one that doesn't like Tebow, at least right now. Whenever I see that commercial with Tebow about like "They said i'd never get a D1 scholarship, I'd never do anything in the NFL, etc" he technically hasn't done anything, yet. He very well could, but right now he's a project. A project that belongs to Denver.
