The reoccuring hit that Dunta Robinson is becoming known for on Eagles wideouts... the helmet lowered to the head left me with some questions. Why is the fine this time any less? I thought the NFL was becoming more protective of the NFL athletes?

An excuse was thrown out that because it was Merton Hanks who was a 4 time pro bowler for the 49ers at the safety position. That is no excuse. So then what if Tyvon Branch does one of those hits? Will he get fined what $20,000 for the hit because he's a safety too?!

In my opinion it's not as if Dunta doesn't recall, sure it all happens so fast but there are rules. I think he should had been fined and suspended for a few games.

I thought it was 40k?

I think the refs need to start ejecting players for those type of hits.

He's been a waste of cap space for the Falcons.

Nah. He's overpaid, but he still makes this team better.
Does he really?

14-17, 82.4% complete, 263 yards, 18.8 per, 137 yac, 1 TD, 0 INT, 138.4 QB rating

It'd be tough to get any worse than that. Just let Chris Owens or Dominique Franks take his spot, or Kelvin Hayden whenever he gets healthy. They can't be much worse.

Not the first time PFF has screwed up CB metrics by including zone coverage.

Christopher Owens? Lulz.

Your still responsible for the man in your zone.

Dunta was crap in Houston and he's crap in Atlanta.

Your man? There is no your man in zone coverage. In a cover two, which Atlanta runs a lot, Robinson is responsible for the flats. So he stays on the wide WR unless a TE or RB (or another WR) runs to the flats. If no one does, then he can stay on that wide WR.

Crap? Lol, nah. Christopher Owens is crap. Fact is Robinson makes this team better, overpaid or not.

So the man in YOUR zone isn't your responsibility?

Robinson makes the team better how? Laying cheap shot hits on receivers? Because it definitely isn't from good corner play.

You're responsible for your zone. The man can change. PFF fails to realize this. For example, if Atlanta is running a cover 2, and Colston is lined up out wide. He does a quick slant. Graham is lined up to the left of the LT. He runs out to the flats. Robinson covers Colston until he sees Graham and then he goes to the flat and the next man (let's say Spoon) is supposed to roll over to Colston. At the instance Robinson goes to Graham, Brees throws it to the open zone for a completion to Colston. PFF would count that as a completion against Robinson. If PFF actually just counted man to man coverage metrics, you'd see Robinson isn't crap. I suppose without actually watching a team consistently, though, you'd jump to conclusions based on stats. In reality, though, it's far from the case.

Lol, easy. Without him, Owens would be starting. If you think he'd be better than Robinson, well then I feel sorry for your football intelligence.
