With no head coach in place and GM Rich McKay said to be in "hot water", the Atlanta Falcons are in the middle of an organizational disaster. Regardless, Falcons owner Arthur Blank is said to have a compiled a list of candidates to replace Bobby Petrino and according to the Indy Star, Indianapolis Colts assistant head coach Jim Caldwell is on it.
Caldwell was said to have interviewed with Atlanta on Thursday. Tony Dungy has endorsed Caldwell as a top candidate, as did Pro Bowl quarterback Peyton Manning. Being an African-American, Caldwell's candidacy is good news to the NFL who has made a push for teams to interview African-Americans for the past few seasons. -AE
