http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=355198The Anaheim Ducks continue to restructure their goaltending as they have acquired Dan Ellis from the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for goaltender Curtis McElhinney.
"We are excited to acquire a goaltender of Dan's caliber, someone we feel can help us immediately," said Ducks Executive Vice President/General Manager Bob Murray in a statement released by the team. "He has experience playing in big games down the stretch."
The move comes just one day after the Ducks promoted goalie Ray Emery from Syracuse of the AHL. Ducks incumbent starter Jonas Hiller is on injured reserve dealing with what he believes is vertigo.
Meanwhile the 27-year old McElhinney has 6-9-1 record with two shutouts, a 3.43 goals against average and .890 save percentage in 21 appearances for Anaheim this season. The Calgary native was acquired from the Flames in exchange for Vesa Toskala on March 3rd, 2010.
