Donnie Walsh is raving about the improvements in Wilson Chandler's game and said the Knicks intend to re-sign him this summer.

"Wilson's a restricted free agent and I'm going to sign him," Walsh said. "He's a helluva player."

Chandler's asking price could be in the range of $60 million over five years.

"I'm confident even if it's not there [ability to match], we're going to sign him," Walsh said. "That's our intention when the time comes."

"Everything's improved on Wilson," Walsh said. "His shooting technique has improved, his choice of shots has improved and the new players on the team have a lot to do with it because he gets better chances. The biggest change is when he gets to the goal in one dribble, he's such a great athlete and leaves his feet, he's up over anybody, and that separates him from a lot of players.
Good to hear, lock him up Donnie.

getting to the rim with one dribble isnt traveling. it all depends on how close you are. like the free throw line and closer, that would work..

edit: well actually, depends on what one considers ONE dribble. just the ball down once, eh. i guess id say thats close to a travel. but this is the nba we're talking about. lmao

Call it what you want but he's the leagues most improved player this season.

And if we're able to lock him up long term then its going to be interesting to see how good he can become.

Good decision. He's a real good player on this team. No point in giving him up.

I agree he's not asking too much the way he is playing this season.
