The Houston Rockets have traded forward Donatas Motiejunas and guard Marcus Thornton to the Detroit Pistons in exchange for center Joel Anthony and a 2016 first-round pick, according to the Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski.

im content with dealing our pick for that package.

*anotha one

Swindles is a stretch. I like Donuts, I think it's an okay trade, but I don't think they fleeced the Rockets here. Pistons could still end up in the lotto.

The pick is interesting, but I still think Houston could have gotten more for that package.

Swindle?
They got a 1st for a guy who's played like 6 games in 2 years and is a free agent

it'll take a complete collapse to not finish 9th. that pick wasn't going to net us a player who would be as good as these two are now. im a little worried what dmo may get offered in free agency, unless we're already talking with his agent. thorton can help with scoring off the bench, which we needed badly. obviously he can hurt too, but i have a bit of faith.

Montiejunas is definitely solid, was pretty good last year, and if he's healthy, I imagine he's worth the pick.

The Pistons still really lack floor spacing though. I'm not sure how well a Jackson-Pope-Harris-Donatas-Drummond lineup is going to operate. Same problem the Heat have, but the Heat have more talent.

i dont think we have the serious floor spacers we need but the guys are capable of that. i still think we have more value in return than that pick would get us.

It's going to be conveyed this year. There are 9 teams I would put money on having worse records at the end of the year than Detroit will. Plus several teams like New Orleans, Orlando, and Washington, who all have worse records too but could potentially swing upwards

That pick will be anywhere from 12-17, going to Houston

and 12-17 wouldnt have brought us anything better in the draft. im also fairly certain that svg and co did their research on his injuries. we have been against trading any picks unless we felt we got fair value.

If we make the playoffs I don't care about the pick at all. Adding Thornton in the deal shows Stan wants playoffs now. Motiejunas is a great piece for the future and may even help now.

Might sound dumb, but adding a rookie in the draft would've been cool, but I think this team is young enough right now. Especially with this deal. Any rookie we would've taken would have been buried in the bench. And I feel like this draft is very meh.

I like the trade a lot. Maybe not as much as the Tobias one but this will help.

Motiejunas says he's 100 healthy. So that's great news.

as much as i liked this trade and think we get more value from this than another young kid, the trade might get voided. approval deadline has been extended.

even if its approved his back is clearly an issue, unless we're just evaluating the future now.
