Who are the players in the NBA you feel that you can put on any team (no matter how bad they are) and turn that team into a contender with that one player.

For me,

Lebron James is a definite answer. Cleveland totally fell off to last in the conference without him.

Is Kevin Durant that type of dominate player? Because he does have quite a bit of support around him.

I really hate that argument for LeBron. Yes it's true, but it's simplifying the issue. That team was specifically built for LeBron and they blew it up when he left. Not to mention many significant injuries

Probably Dwight.

Carried a team full of poor perimeter defenders to being a top defensive team for years.

Depends on your definition of a contender. I think Chris Paul is close, if not already there. He turned around the Clippers.

I really think LeBron is the only player who could actually turn a bad team to a contender by himself.
Just all the things he does, no one else replicates.
Might get the scoring from Durant, but you don't get the top notch defense, playmaking, and rebounding like you'll get from LeBron. And that is not a shot at Durant, clearly the 2nd best player in the NBA, but I don't think he could turn a franchise around by his lonesome. I don't think LeBron could either, but he'd have the best chance at it.

I think you'd have to put Dwight on there too because look at how bad the Magic will be without him.
