Do you think, players should be able to wear any number they want?

( QB's and Kickers/Punters have to wear #'s 1-19, )
( RB's, and DB's have to wear #'s 20-49 )
( Offensive Lineman has to wear #'s 60-79 and Defensive Lineman have to wear #'s 60-69/70-79-90-99 )

I honestly think it keeps the field organized, what do you think?

I don't think its right when you deny Bush #5 because hes a HB but you let Devin Hester switch to a WR and keep #23...so I think there should be a change somehow

I dont care too much myself

But from a players point of view, some guys pick certain numbers b/c of what it means to them. Or maybe theyve worn it their whole lives, so they would like to keep it...

So I went with no.

your list is inacurate and was put together too.. quickly...

here's the detailed list.

1-9 Quarterbacks and Kickers
10-19 Quarterbacks, Receivers, Tight Ends, and Kickers
20-49 Running Backs and Defensive Backs
50-59 Centers and Linebackers
60-79 Defensive Linemen and Offensive Linemen
80-89 Receivers and Tight Ends (or 40-49 if those ranges are taken)
90-99 Defensive Linemen and Linebackers

Devin Hester isn't listed as a WR on the Bears roster, that is why he is able to keep #23. The NFL said something about watching his snaps this season and if he had a certain number of plays at WR, they were going to make him change his number. I heard that at the beginning of the season, so I don't know where it's gone.

As some of you know I'm from Europe and in our Football you can wear any number you want. But some clubs usually assign the number to you, unless you are a legend and you can wear whatever you want then.

So I voted No, you should be able to wear what ever number you want.

Linebackers are also permitted to wear #'s in the 40's when 50's and 90's arent' available.

Who gives a flying <Censored>? The numbers give the refs a chance to see who's playing what position and who's eligible and that is there purpose. You should jsut keep football the way it is.

Well, i like the idea somewhat, because it would be really weird seeing a big lineman wear #6 or something like that, But on the other hand; i do feel like players should wear wht they want.

I feel that they should be able to wear what number they want but it would be odd to change it now
